Tray and Melody sit down with Jessica Thompson to discuss her seventh book, How to Help Your Anxious Teen: Discovering the Surprising Sources of Their Worries and Fears. She stresses how many of our societal norms can actually exacerbate anxiety in teens and how parents can approach their children to discuss and manage anxiety. Jessica is the author of several books and is a frequent conference speaker. Her heart is to see women, families, and children freed from the bondage of moralism.
Tray and Melody bring Alice Churnock into the studio to discuss the importance of understanding eating disorders. Alice specializes in counseling adolescents, women, and parents in areas relating to eating disorders, body image, and depression, as well as stress and anger management. She stresses that eating disorders go far beyond that of anorexia and bulimia, and that it is pivotal to understand the root issues that lead to these disorders.
Tray and Melody sit down with Kristen Hatton to discuss what its like walking with a child or teen struggling with an eating disorder. She emphasizes the importance of talking to our children about the idols in their lives that drive undesirable behaviors instead of just trying to fix it for them and make them “good kids.”
